The ISBA proudly supports mentoring and acknowledges the value of having experienced lawyers provide professional guidance and share practical knowledge with new lawyers during the critical transition from law student to legal practitioner.

New Attorneys are eligible for the ISBA Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program if they satisfy the following requirements:
If you meet this eligibility requirement and wish to participate in the mentoring program, please complete the Commission's New Lawyer Application form and be sure to select ISBA as the sponsoring organization. ISBA will do its best to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee a match. A required orientation meeting is held each January.
The program focuses on issues encountered in the practice of law. New attorneys who are not yet working in the legal profession, please be aware that the program is not a tool for identifying or assisting you in finding employment opportunities. ISBA provides career assistance through our online career resource center.

ISBA Central is a group of communities with discussion groups where ISBA members can as questions and get answers including:
Open to all new lawyers and experienced lawyers who want to give back. It is a place where no question is too dumb!
We also have very active groups open to all ISBA members for general discussion and several broad practice areas which require some form of section membership.
Most ISBA sections also have a related discussion group restricted to members of those sections.
