Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Employment Law
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit against her former employer after she was fired and alleged sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant by finding that plaintiff had failed to establish a triable issue of material fact on her claims. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that the district court did not err when it granted summary judgment because she did not show that the employer’s conduct was severe or pervasive on her harassment claim, she was not able to identify an appropriate comparator on her discrimination claim, and did not establish that the employer’s reasons for firing her were pretextual on her retaliation claim.
