Defendant pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 200 months in prison, which fell within the guidelines range. On appeal, defendant challenged the length of his sentence, arguing that some of his past convictions that were considered by the district court during sentencing were too attenuated to qualify as relevant conduct at sentencing. The Seventh Circuit conducted a plain error review and affirmed, finding that it was not plain error for the district court to consider the defendant’s past conduct as relevant and to sentence him accordingly.
