Defendant was convicted by a jury of money laundering and related charges after he used his electronic goods business to launder drug proceeds for drug traffickers. Defendant appealed and argued that he was entitled to a new trial, challenged the district court’s denial of his motion to dismiss, challenged the trial court’s admission of threat evidence, and challenged the denial of his motion for a mistrial based on the government’s closing argument. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding no error in the admission of evidence or its rulings on defendant's motions and noting that even if the comments made during closing were improper the error was invited and the jury was properly instructed.
