Plaintiff filed a lawsuit against her former employer as well as her former department and division chairs for race discrimination and alleged that the defendants violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as well as the Illinois Human Rights Act. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendants and plaintiff appealed. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that plaintiff failed to present any evidence suggesting that her level of pay or work responsibilities were because of her race and, as a result, no reasonable jury could find that plaintiff was subjected to race discrimination.
