Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Employment Discrimination
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit against her former employer after she was placed on unpaid leave and discharged for refusing to either be vaccinated for Covid-19 or to undergo weekly testing, alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act for failing to accommodate her religious objections. The district court dismissed the complaint and plaintiff appealed. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that the district court correctly concluded that the allegations of the complaint established that the employer did reasonably accommodate the plaintiff’s religious objections.
