Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Employment Discrimination
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit alleging that her employer racially discriminated against her when it reassigned her to a new role. The complaint alleged violations of Title VII and the Equal Protection Clause. The district court granted summary judgment to the defendant on both claims and the Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that plaintiff’s statutory claim was not timely and that her constitutional claim was barred because the prosecutor’s office is not a suitable “person” under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
