Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Attorneys Fees
Respondent appealed from the circuit court’s orders granting her petition for attorney fees in part, denying her petition for fees related to her successful defense on appeal, and denying her request for statutory post-judgment interest. The appellate court vacated and remanded, finding that the trial court erred when it provided no explanation as to how it reached its conclusion with regard to the proper amount of attorneys fees and when it relied on evidence not in the record, that the trial court was required by statute to determine reasonable attorneys fees for the appeal, and that the trial court erred by not imposing the statutorily-required post-judgment interest.
