A 61-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for the January 2023 bank robbery of the Southern Illinois Bank in Zeigler. Earl Morlan was also ordered to make $3,100 restitution to the bank. Morlan still has charges in connection with the bank robbery pending in Franklin County Court at Benton, including a Class X felony armed robbery charge.
