The Higher Education Student Assistance Act (110 ILCS 947/80l-5) now requires the Illinois Student Assistance Commission to give a debtor employee notice before garnishing any of the following: a) salary, b) wages, c) commission, or d) bonuses.

The Illinois Department of Human Services ("department") recently took over responsibility for the AmeriCorps program, which was originally under the Lieutenant Governor's Office. 77 Ill Adm Code 2250.

The Department of Human Services has added a new section to 89 Ill Adm Code 112, "Temporary Assistance for Needy Families." 

Pursuant to Public Act 94-0968, an amendment to the Higher Education Student Assistance Act, 110 ILCS 947/65.75, the Department of Education has added 23 Ill Adm Code 2738, titled "Grant Program for a Child Raised by Grandparent," effective July 1, 2007. 

The Board of Education has created 23 Ill Adm Code 2758 to implement the Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program, effective July 1, 2007. 

The Illinois State Board of Education (Board) has amended three sections and repealed one section of 23 Ill Adm Code 60. The changes correlate with Public Act 94-0979 and pertain specifically to the Grow Your Own Teacher Education Act, 110 ILCS 48/1 et seq. 

Last summer, the Illinois General Assembly added Section 605-430 to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code. 20 ILCS 605/605-430. 

The Board of Higher Education (Board) has implemented rules, effective February 7, 2007, that provide uniform guidelines, definitions, and limitations for the issuing of tuition and fee waivers by public universities to their students. 23 Ill Adm Code 1075.

The Board of Education (Board) has adopted 23 Ill Adm Code 1105 in order to implement amendments made to the Board of Higher Education Act, 110 ILCS 205/0.01 et seq, that provide for the creation of a fellowship program for qualified nursing faculty working at eligible institutions of higher education. 

Effective December 1, 2006, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (Commission) has amended 23 Ill Adm Code 2734. 

Effective October 2, 2006, the Illinois Secretary of State has amended 23 Ill Adm Code 3060. These amendments arose because of a funding increase and are designed to help take full advantage of the supplemental grant money.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (Commission) has amended part 2761 of title 23, 23 Ill Adm Code 2761.

Effective on March 22, 2005, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity adopted 14 Ill Adm Code 110.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission recently adopted amendments to 23 Ill Adm Code 2775.20 and 2775.50. 

The Secretary of State's office adopted amendments to 23 Ill. Adm. Code 3040, calling for significant changes to the Adult Literacy Grant Program. 

Legislation signed by Gov. Ryan in August authorizes a deduction equal to a taxpayer's contribution to a Bright Start College Savings Program account.
