On March 28, 2023, the First District of the Illinois Appellate Court held that Illinois may exercise personal jurisdiction over LG Chem (LG), a South Korean company, for a claim involving batteries LG sold in Illinois.

On July 22, 2022, the First District of the Illinois Appellate Court held that a phone call to an out-of-state doctor who treated the plaintiff for an unrelated condition was not a sufficient purposeful contact required to establish specific personal jurisdiction.

On Aug. 1, 2019, the First District Appellate Court affirmed the circuit court order denying RAM Aircraft’s motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction.
