Illinois Supreme Court suspends Morton lawyer for one year for false statements

A Morton attorney is barred from practicing law by the state’s highest court after it was found he made false statements representing a client. Gabriel Casey, whose office is the Casey Law Office in Morton, represented a “client in a matter alleging elder abuse against a couple, he made false statements regarding his client’s intentions in a settlement demand letter and threatened to file criminal charges against the couple unless they settled the claim,” according to a Jan. 17 order by the Illinois Supreme Court.
