Unfortunately, natural disasters like tornadoes or floods are not uncommon in Illinois. And while legal issues are not the first concern of those dealing with such disasters, they can come into play from time to time.
Lawyers, in addition to government and charitable organizations on the scene, may be able to help deal with some of the long term legal consequences of such disasters. In some situations, the Illinois Supreme Court can authorize non-Illinois lawyers to provide free legal services to those in need.
