Amendments to the Unclaimed Life Insurance Benefits Act pose significant challenges to insurers By Matt Anderson Insurance Law, January 2018 The passage of the Unclaimed Life Insurance Benefits Act and subsequent amendments in 2017, now place statutory duties on life insurance companies to identify deceased insureds and locate beneficiaries without any claim under the policy. The 2017 amendments especially appear to raise challenges for insurers.
