Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 68 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- House Bill 4293 creates the Hemp Consumer Products Act.
- House Bill 5285 provides that for the first-time offender provisions of the Cannabis Control Act, a sentence shall not be considered a conviction under Illinois law unless and until judgment is entered for a violation of the terms of the probation.
