ISBA Central Discussions
ISBA Central communities allows section members to pose questions, answer questions, and share information with fellow section members. Members of the section get free access to the section’s community. Joining any section also grants you access to the Transactional and Litigation communities. Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 6 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- Senate Bill 3538 provides that if a county (home rule or not), municipality (home rule or not), or fire protection district is a self-insurer for purposes of providing health insurance coverage for its employees, the insurance coverage must include mental health counseling for any employee who is a first responder without imposing a deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other cost-sharing requirement on the coverage provided.
- Senate Bill 3558 provides that the Transportation Benefits Program Act does not apply to any covered employee working in the construction industry who is covered by a bona fide collective bargaining agreement.
