Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 107 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- Senate Bill 2804 authorizes the Department of Central Management Services to adopt rules to facilitate electronic filing and to govern practice and procedure in administrative hearings.
- Senate Bill 3405 allows counties to expend funds for rides to problem-solving courts. The bill defines "problem-solving court" as a court program regulated under the Drug Court Treatment Act, the Juvenile Drug Court Treatment Act, the Mental Health Court Treatment Act, or the Veterans and Servicemembers Court Treatment Act.
- Senate Bill 3314 requires IDFPR to file a rule allowing for refinancing of funding under the Consumer Legal Funding Act.
