John "Jack" C. Doyle, 81, of Western Springs has passed away.

A true son of the South Side and proud alum of St. Dorothy's ('47), De LaSalle H.S. ('51), St. Mary's College ('57), and DePaul Law School ('62). Returning from U.S. Army duty overseas, Jack obtained his law degree at night, going on to lead the only law firm he ever worked for, mentoring a number of loyal and appreciative young lawyers along the way. A long time Beverly resident and St Barnabas parishioner, Jack loved his community and served it in a number of roles. His heart was also in Twin Lakes, Michigan, where he spent 43 fun-filled summers with family and friends.

Our Dad was blessed with a very special group of friends and loved to share laughter and good times. He placed family above all and his love, courage and selflessness was on display until the end.

Beloved husband of Mary (nee McHugh); loving father of Sean (Margie), Marty (Courtney), Kathy (Kevin) Cooney, Julie (Greg) Johnson, Neil (Joanie) and the late Mary Therese; loving grandfather of John, Packy, Tara, Brian, Colin, Kevin, Jack, Danny, Maeve, Liam, Lally, Matt, Jacquelyn, Caroline, Brendan, Davoren, Hayden and Declan; son of the late John and Alice Doyle; fond brother of the late Alice (Burke); uncle of many nieces and nephews.
