Ansel as a shareholder of the firm and attorneys Alyx J. Parker and Dane C. Amundson as associates with the law firm. A veteran litigator, Marc Ansel, has practiced law continuously in Champaign County, Illinois for over 40 years and is a graduate of both the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois College of Law. Mr. Ansel is a respected trial lawyer concentrating in civil litigation, including complex business and commercial litigation, construction disputes, unfair competition, arbitration, mediation, injury and insurance matters. He is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution, as advocate, arbitrator and mediator. He has handled numerous jury and bench trials, as well as appeals before all Illinois appellate courts, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Federal court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Ansel has also been involved in alternative dispute resolution as an advocate, arbitrator and mediator.

Since 2008, Ansel has been recognized by his peers as a “Top 100 Downstate Leading Lawyer” by Leading Lawyer Network, and as an “Illinois Supreme Lawyer” in business litigation. He also has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Illinois College of Law Trial Advocacy Program since 2002. Mr. Ansel was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the Committee on Character & Fitness of the Illinois Board of Admissions and Fitness Committee (2005-2011).

Alyx J. Parker is an experienced litigator who graduated from the University of Illinois (1998) and Pepperdine University School of Law (2001). Alyx has been recognized as a 2015 and 2016 Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers, and in 2014 was identified by Central Illinois Business Magazine as one of its “40-under-40” for his professional and civic concentrations in business/commercial matters, personal injury and as a mediator.

Dane Amundson is also a trial attorney who joins Meyer Capel’s litigation department as of April 1, 2016. As an associate attorney with Ansel Law Ltd., Amundson has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous commercial litigation cases. He graduated from Northeastern Illinois University (Summa Cum Laude 2008) and the University of Illinois College of Law (2012).
