John D. Simmons joined Califf & Harper, P.C. as a new associate of counsel in 2019.  

Simmons, born in Cedar Rapids and raised in northern Illinois, graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2003, and went on to receive his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2006.  

Simmons practiced in central Illinois until 2015, when he moved to the Quad Cities area. His practice has focused on civil litigation, especially in the arena of personal injury. He began practicing in Iowa in 2015, and has enjoyed representing clients on both sides of the Mississippi River ever since. 

He is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Iowa. He will be joining the firm in the general practice of law.
