ISBA Assembly Approves Resolution Denouncing Inhumane Practice of Harvesting Shark Fins
The ISBA Assembly on June 19 approved a resolution directed at the inhumane practice of harvesting shark fins.
The resolution expresses support for an American Bar Association resolution urging government agencies to prohibit the possession, sale, and trade of shark fins and penalize those who are involved in those activities.

In my opinion the ISBA should not be spending resources on issues such as this. This is a professional legal association and its resources and opinions should be limited to legal profession issues that affect association members. The harvesting of shark fins may be a horrific practice, but this is not something that relates to the practice of law and I don't support our dues going to fight against the practice.
