Beloved son of the late James and Florence (nee Sullivan) Wren; loving cousin of many. John was a loyal friend and neighbor.

He was a graduate of Fenwick High School ('55), Loyola University, and Kent Law School. While attending Law School John was a teacher with the Chicago Board of Education and went on to become an Attorney for the Board. John then became an associate in private practice focusing on Education Law. During his career, he appeared before the Supreme Court.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with rank of Captain.
