Herbert H. Franks 1934-2023
"Herb Franks was a lawyer's lawyer, a friend's friend, and a great example of what a dedicated father and husband should be. He was a wonderful leader of the ISBA and will be greatly missed," said ISBA President Shawn S. Kasserman. "Hopefully he and Justice Moses Harrison II are fishing together on the most beautiful lake of all."
Beloved husband of Eileen, nee Pepper. Loving father of David Franks, Jack Franks, and Eli Franks. Proud grandfather of Kevin Crews, Samuel Franks, Henry Franks, Miriam Franks, Olivia Franks, and Joseph Franks. Dear brother of Helen Lindow, Betty Sobelman, Judith Farah, and Sheldon Franks (deceased).
Memorial Service: Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Kneseth Israel, 330 Division Street, Elgin, Illinois.
Interment at McHenry County Jewish Cemetery, located at Oakland Cemetery, 14307 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, Illinois 60098 following the Memorial Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces.

Herb was a good man and a credit to McHenry County and the Illinois bar, and will be missed.
He will be missed. His jovial demeanor and ready smile were always a joy to encounter at events.
