Organizational Summary

The Illinois Judges Association (IJA) consists of over 1250 current sitting and retired Illinois state court judges. The Association supports judicial excellence and professional development and judicial education, fosters public confidence in an independent judiciary, works to preserve the independence of the judiciary by educating the public and students, and promotes a diverse judiciary that administers justice in a fair and impartial court system.

Position Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the Association. This primarily involves the supervision and coordination of all committees, fiscal management, and working directly with the six immediate officers of the IJA, namely the President; three Vice Presidents; the Secretary and the Treasurer as well as other members of the IJA Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day implementation, administration and execution of the mission of the Illinois Judges Association in a manner that supports, informs, and reinforces the organization’s mission;
• Communicate effectively and responsibly with members of the IJA and all its Committees, as well as the general public;
• Attend, assist and host all IJA zoom committee meetings and initaitves;
• Maintain member database;
• Maintain and develop IJA website;
• Maintain and expand social media presence;
• Prepare and send out all communication from IJA officers and committees to members of the IJA;
• Prepare and maintain financial statements with the Treasurer and Budget committee of the IJA and submit to the board a proposed annual budget, committee reports and the ongoings of the Association; work with outside auditor on IJA’s fiscal matters;
• Work with various Bar Associations on seminars and events for IJA members.
