On April 18, 2024, the Illinois Bar Foundation celebrated Justice Margaret J. Mullen (Illinois Appellate Court, 2nd District) and Susan M. Goldberg (Five Lakes Law Group) during the Northern Illinois Champions Reception at the Bowes Creek Country Club, 1250 Bowes Creek Blvd., in Elgin, IL.

The IBF’s Champions Breakfast was held on December 8, 2023, in conjunction with the ISBA Midyear Meeting, honoring Judge Celia Gamrath with the 2023 Distinguished Service to Law & Society Award as well as the law firm of Stephan Zouras LLP with the 2023 Honorary Champion Award.

Helping attorneys through the toughest times of their lives has been at the core of what the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF) has done since 1951. Today, the IBF recognizes that the COVID-19 crisis has presented all of us with a new set of unforeseen, unpredictable challenges. With limited court access and futures uncertain for many, the IBF has established the COVID-19 Lawyers Care Relief Fund as an extension of the existing Warren Lupel Lawyers Care Fund. This initiative will enable the IBF to further its reach to even more attorneys in need throughout the state and will specifically provide financial aid to attorneys struggling to make ends meet as a result of this crisis. This special relief fund has been made possible by a generous cy pres award directed to the IBF by friends at Edelson PC.

Please save the date for the Illinois Bar Foundation’s Lawyers Rock presented by ISBA Mutual on Thursday, March 12 at the Lincoln Hall in Chicago. Enjoy live music and lots of fun as lawyers rock out for justice. The proceeds of this event help the Illinois Bar Foundation ensure access to justice and support juvenile justice causes through the Foundation’s M. Denny Hassakis Fund.
