    Illinois Supreme Court annouces judicial vacancy in 6th District

    Chief Justice Rita B. Garman of the Supreme Court of Illinois has begun an application process for a Circuit Court vacancy in the Sixth Judicial Circuit.

    The DeWitt County resident circuit vacancy is created by the death of Judge Garry W. Bryan. Judge Bryan had served as a resident circuit judge in the Sixth Judicial Circuit since 2008.

    Under the Illinois Constitution, the Supreme Court holds the authority to fill interim judicial vacancies until the next General Election. The application process will lead to final Court approval. The applicants will undergo an evaluation and screening process.

    Notice of the vacancy has been posted in courthouses throughout the Circuit. The application form and instructions may be obtained by visiting the Supreme Court’s website at www.illinoiscourts.gov and following the instructions in the “Latest News” scroller announcing the Sixth Judicial Circuit vacancy.     2 finalists named for DuPage associate judge vacancy

    Chief Circuit Judge John T. Elsner is pleased to announce that two finalists have been selected and certified to the Illinois Supreme Court. The finalists are seeking to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Associate Judge Thomas C. Dudgeon. From these names, the Circuit Judges will select one appointee by secret ballot.

    • Robert W. Rohm, J.D.-Drake University Law School, 1990; admitted to practice of law in Illinois, 1990. Mr. Rohm is currently a partner with the law firm of Taylor Miller (1999-present). He is an active member with the DuPage County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
    • Ann Celine O'Hallaren Walsh, J.D.-Chicago Kent College of Law, 1998; admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, 1999. Ms. O'Hallaren Walsh is currenty the Supervisor of the Sex Crimes/Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Unit fo the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office (1999-present). Ms. O'Hallaren Walsh is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and Illinois Prosecutors Association.

    Raines appointed Circuit Judge of Cook County, at Large

    William B. Raines has been appointed as a circuit judge of Cook County, at Large. This position was formerly held by the Hon. Gregory Emmett Ahern, Jr. It is effective Aug. 15, 2014, and terminates on Dec. 1, 2014.

    Butler appointed resident circuit judge of Schuyler County

    The Illinois Supreme Court announced Monday the appointment of Associate Judge Scott J. Butler of the Eighth Judicial Circuit as a resident circuit judge of Schuyler County.

    Judge Butler was appointed to fill the resident Circuit Court vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Alesia A. McMillen on August 1, 2014. The appointment is effective August 4, 2014 and will expire December 5, 2016 when the position will be filled by the 2016 General Election.

    Waller appointed resident circuit judge of DeKalb County

    The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed the Hon. Bradley J. Waller, currently Associate Judge of the 23rd Judicial Circuit, to Resident Circuit Judge of of the 23rd Judicial Circuit, DeKalb County. This appointment is effective July 28, 2014 and terminates on Dec. 5, 2016.

    Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Rita B. Garman announced Monday the appointment of longtime Associate Judge Timothy J. Steadman to Resident Circuit Judge of Macon County in the Sixth Judicial Circuit.

    Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis announces 2 Cook County judicial vacancies

    Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis announced on Thursday an application process for vacancies in the Fourth and Seventh Judicial Subcircuits of Cook County.

    The Fourth Judicial Subcircuit vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge William J. Kunkle on July 2. Judge Kunkle had been a Circuit judge in Cook County since 2004.

    The Seventh Judicial Subcircuit vacancy was created by the death of Judge Anthony L. Burrell on May 14. Judge Burrell had been a Circuit judge in Cook County since 2002.

    Judge Lisa Holder White appointed to 4th District Appellate Court

    The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed the Hon. Lisa Holder White, Resident Circuit Judge of Macon County, Sixth Judicial Circuit, to the Appellate Court of Illinois, Fourth Judicial District. White has been assigned to duty with the Fourth District Appellate Court since 2013. This vacancy was created by the death of the Hon. John McCullough. It is effective July 1, 2014, and terminates on Dec. 1, 2014,

    Former federal judge Michael McCuskey appointed as Resident Circuit Judge of Marshall County

    The Illinois Supreme Court announced Monday the assignment of Retired U.S. District Court Judge Michael McCuskey to fill a Circuit Court vacancy as Resident Circuit Judge of Marshall County in the 10th Judicial Circuit.

    His appointment is effective July 3, 2014 and will terminate December 5, 2016, when the position will be filled by election. Judge McCuskey will fill the vacancy created by the announced retirement of Judge Kevin Galley, which is effective at midnight July 2.

    Jeffrey appointed circuit judge in 15th Circuit

    The Illinois Supreme Court has announced the appointment of Associate Judge David L. Jeffrey as a Circuit Court Judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit. Judge Jeffrey was appointed to fill the Resident Circuit Court vacancy in Stephenson County created by the announced retirement of Judge Theresa L. Ursin effective August 31, 2014.
