Christine T. Cody has been named associate judge of the 18th Judicial Court in DuPage County, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Bruce R. Kelsey.

She received her law degree from the Loyola University School of Law and has been a partner with the Law Offices of Rohde & Cody in Addison since 2011.

She has also served as an adjunct professor at the College of DuPage, a partner with Cody, Mitacek & Rohde, an assistant state's attorney for the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office; and an associate at DiMonte, Schostack & Lizak. 

Levin Ginsburg recently added a new Privacy and Data Security practice group, which will be chaired by partner and ISBA member Natalie A. Remien, who has recently been certified by The International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). In addition to intellectual property, Ms. Remien’s practice now includes the ability to assist clients in reducing their legal exposure in the event of a data breach. She is experienced in reviewing employee policies and handbooks to address privacy issues, and ensuring that clients have carefully drafted their terms of service and privacy policies on their websites in order to avoid FTC violations. The practice group also includes associate, Kristen E. O’Neill. Ms. O’Neill has considerable experience in preparing and reviewing employee policies and handbooks and assisting clients with minimizing their exposure to liability for privacy and data breaches.

The Leading Lawyers Network has recognized firm owner and ISBA member Jonathan G. Anderson of Anderson & Associates as one of its 2017 Leading Lawyers for Illinois. Senior Associate Attorney Robert J. Boszko was also named a 2017 Emerging Lawyer.

ISBA member Thomas V. Linguanti, a leading federal court tax controversy trial lawyer, recently joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP's Chicago office as a partner. Mr. Linguanti, a former trial and appellate attorney in the Tax Division of the US Department of Justice, was the leader of the North American tax practice at his previous global law firm. His arrival brings additional recognition to the firm’s already top-ranked, market-leading tax practice.

Mr. Linguanti advises individual and corporate clients worldwide in developing strategies in disputes with the US Internal Revenue Service during audits, alternative dispute resolution proceedings, and trial and appellate litigation. He has represented tax clients before numerous federal courts and the US Tax Court and was the lead lawyer in Medtronic Inc. v. Commissioner, in which the court’s ruling slashed the medical device company’s tax deficiencies from $1.36 billion to $14 million in a transfer pricing dispute involving its Puerto Rico operations. The case is on appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, with Mr. Linguanti as lead counsel.

Mr. Linguanti speaks frequently on federal tax controversy issues and negotiation strategies. He is also a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, teaching advocacy skills to government, public interest, and private firm lawyers.
