The ISBA Young Lawyers Division hosted Speed Networking and Wine Tasting events on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the ISBA Mutual Office, 20 South Clark Street, Chicago. Young lawyers, newly-admitted lawyers, and law students had the unique opportunity to be mentored by a myriad of prestigious lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals from all over the State of Illinois discussing a variety of topics such as landing their first job, different career paths, and ISBA membership benefits.
On Dec. 8, 2023, the ISBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) presented the CLE program, Beyond Objection: Using Theatre Techniques for Effective Counsel, in conjunction with the Joint Midyear Meeting at the JW Marriott in Chicago. Speaker Nelson Velazquez (Nezprov Productions) engaged attendees in a number of interactive activities that are used by improvisational actors to help strengthen quick-thinking and story-telling abilities.
YLD Vice-Chair Hannah R. Lamore of Mahoney, Silverman & Cross, LLC, in Joliet, IL, served as the program moderator.

Our panel of judges will participate in a moderator led question and answer session discussing how to properly write briefs, what aspects of brief writing judges find most important, how attorneys can more effectively advocate for their clients in their briefs, what to avoid when drafting briefs, and other related topics.
