The Illinois Human Rights Commission is now accepting applications for the Edward Coles Summer Fellowship, which begins on June 2, 2025. Coles Fellows are student-interns who will work with Administrative Law Judges and attorneys in the Office of General Counsel to manage and adjudicate civil rights lawsuits that are brought before the Commission.To apply, law school students should submit a resume, a cover-letter, a transcript, and a writing sample to HRC.Internships@illinois.gov.

Justice David K. Overstreet of the Supreme Court of Illinois has begun an application process for an at-large circuit judge vacancy in the Fourth Judicial Circuit. The vacancy was created by the upcoming retirement of Judge Douglas L. Jarman, effective January 29, 2025.

The Illinois Courts Annual Report for 2023 contains a summary of the day-to-day operations of the Supreme, Appellate and Circuit Court, and highlights judges, court managers, committees, the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, and other justice partners who carry out the work of the third branch of government.

The ISBA Assembly elected four “At Large” delegates to the ABA House of Delegates during its meeting held on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, during the ISBA Joint Midyear Meeting. The two delegates from Cook County are Emily Masalski and Bianca Brown. The two delegates from outside Cook County are Brian Flynn and Cindy Buys.
