The Illinois Supreme Court has announced the appointment of Tracie R. Porter as an At-Large Cook County Circuit Judge. Ms. Porter was appointed to fill the At-Large vacancy created by the election of Justice Michael B. Hyman to the 1st District Appellate Court. The appointment is effective November 12, 2021, and will conclude December 5, 2022, following the November 2022 general election.

Ms. Gudino was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Cara LeFevour Smith. She will be sworn-in on October 15, 2021, and her term will conclude December 5, 2022, following the November 2022 general election.

The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of September, 2021, ISBA helped 1,040 people in need of legal services find lawyers.
