Pilgrim Christakis LLP, a financial services litigation boutique based in Chicago, has announced the promotion of Matt Stromquist to the firm’s partnership.

Stromquist is a seasoned trial lawyer who has tried cases in state and federal courts around the country, as well as a skilled appellate advocate. He represents banks, mortgage servicers, credit card companies, auto finance companies, and other financial services providers in a wide array of individual and class action litigation.

Stromquist is an active member of various financial services industry groups, including the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services Committee, Mortgage Bankers Association, ACA International, Illinois Bankers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Hoshyer Foundation, a charity that funds and promotes the education of girls in Pakistan.

Earlier in his career, Stromquist served as a clerk for the Hon. Michael W. Farrell of the D.C. Court of Appeals. He received a B.A. from Haverford College, an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. with highest distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was an articles editor for the Iowa Law Review and recipient of the ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award.
