Donald Martin, 83, Evanston, IL, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of Judy Martin, his wife of over 54 years; proud father of Tovah (James), Aaron, Sam (Julie), and Jeremy (Jenna); and cherished "Zayde" to Nathan, Elizabeth, Jadon, Oliver, Augustus, and Asa. Don was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1937 and moved to the West Side of Chicago in 1951.

He was a proud graduate of Austin High School, attended the University of Illinois at Navy Pier, and earned bachelor and law degrees from the University of Chicago. After two years in the army reserves, Don started his own legal practice that later became Martin & Karcazes, Ltd. Don was also an active real estate investor, eventually starting Seminary Properties and Management, Ltd. He was an avid world traveler, lifelong learner with a passion for Chicago history and architecture, and a voracious reader and follower of world events. Don was a loyal friend, listener, and philanthropist, known for his generosity in helping those around him. He will be remembered for his kindness and devotion to his family and friends.
