The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC), the administrative agency that regulates licensed Illinois lawyers, has filed its year 2022 Annual Report with the Supreme Court of Illinois. The report will be released to the public on May 1 when a copy is posted on the ARDC website.

Jerome E. Larkin, the Administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois (ARDC), the administrative agency that regulates Illinois lawyers, is retiring at the end of 2023. The ARDC is working in conjunction with global organizational consulting firm Korn Ferry to fill that vacancy.

The Michael A. Bilandic Building is re-opening today as the elevators were returned to service following repairs over the weekend. The State Fire Marshal inspected the site this morning and certified the elevators now meet all code and safety requirements.

Chief Justice Mary Jane Theis and the Illinois Supreme Court announced today amendments to Rule 45 which provide guidelines for future remote appearances in circuit court proceedings.
“The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way our courts operate and remote proceedings are here to stay. This amended rule provides guidance to our courts and a measure of uniformity across the state,” Chief Justice Theis said. “I would like to thank the members of the Remote Proceedings Task Force of the Illinois Judicial Conference for their hard work on this important issue.”
