Judge Fred William Reither, 96, died peacefully surrounded by his family at Regency Health Care in Springfield on August 10, 2020.

John T. Phipps, 82, of Champaign, passed away on Aug. 11, 2020, after spending his final days surrounded by his family and friends.
John was born on Sept. 20, 1937, to Oliver and Jean Phipps. He is survived by his wife, Dody Phipps; his sister, Louise McWhinnie (Jim); his three children, Anne Martinkus (Jim), John Phipps (Becky), and Karen Dorner (David); and his grandchildren, Chase Martinkus, Miranda Phipps, Carter Phipps, Connor Dorner and Emma Dorner.

Terrence J, "Terry" Anastas, of Quincy, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 25 while on vacation with family in Virginia. Terry was born October 25, 1958 in Quincy, the fifth of seven children born to Mary Elizabeth Bailey Anastas and the late Frederick William Anastas. He spent the first few years of his life on a farm - with no running water - near Woodland, Missouri. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Quincy, where Terry attended St. Francis Grade School. Afterwards, he attended Quincy Junior and Senior High Schools, where he played football and wrestled. He graduated in 1976.

Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to low-income individuals in central and southern Illinois, is seeking a staff attorney at the Northern Regional Office in Springfield.
The position includes providing legal assistance and representation of low-income individuals in private and public housing matters, sealing and expungement of criminal records, and public benefits appeals such as Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security. Participation in community legal education and outreach are a significant part of these responsibilities.
