You are invited to represent the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) alongside the DuPage County Bar Association by marching in the 2019 West Suburban Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Naperville on Saturday, March 16. An annual tradition for ISBA, participating in the parade is a great opportunity to represent the association and our lawyers to the public.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Naperville North High School. Members interested in participating can meet at the high school between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The ISBA parade number will be released the week of the parade and will be updated here.

Hon. Charles Patrick “Charlie” Connor, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019.
He was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Joliet, to the late John F. and Anna Marie (nee McCauley) Connor. He was a proud graduate of St. Patrick's School and Joliet Catholic High School before studying engineering at Marquette University, and obtaining his law degree from the University of Chicago. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He practiced law at Grey, Thomas, Wallace & O'Brien before taking the bench in 1965, and became chief judge of the Twelfth Circuit in 1982. After leaving the bench in 1986, he was elected mayor of Joliet, serving from 1987 to 1991.

Carlson Dash expanded its Illinois estate planning practice Jan. 1 with the addition of Julia Steinway. Steinway concentrates her practice on designing and implementing estate plans and leveraged wealth transfer techniques for individuals and families. Steinway works primarily out of the firm’s Chicago office.

Applications are now being accepted for judicial vacancies in the Thirteenth Subcircuit, Seventh Subcircuit, and First Subcircuit of Cook County, according to an announcement made by the Illinois Supreme Court.
The vacancy of the Thirteenth Subcircuit judicial position was created by the resignation of Circuit Judge Margarita Kulys Hoffman. Judge Kulys Hoffman had served as a judge since 2006. Her resignation took effect Dec. 31, 2017.
The vacancy of the Seventh Subcircuit judicial position was created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Marianne Jackson. Judge Jackson had served as a judge since 1997. Her resignation took effect Dec. 31, 2018.
The vacancy of the First Subcircuit judicial position was created by the death of Rhonda Crawford on April 26, 2018.
