Mark your calendars! Every few years, the Illinois State Bar Association organizes an admission ceremony at the U.S. Supreme Court. This year's ceremony will take place June 14-15, 2020, in Washington, D.C.
Only 50 spots will be available. A special group hotel room rate will be available at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel for admittees, their families, and guests.
To be eligible, you must be an active lawyer member of the ISBA, admitted to practice more than 3 years, and not have any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that 3-year period.

Mark your calendars for the ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational, March 14-15, 2020, at the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign-Urbana!
Help us make the 2020 invitational a success by participating! All lawyers, judges, law students, and paralegals are invited to volunteer as judges and jurors for the 2020 invitational, which provides an opportunity for students to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before the Illinois courts.
Volunteer registration information will be distributed in January 2020. No trial experience is necessary.

The Illinois Bar Foundation will honor Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Executive Director Michael J. Rooney and Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis with the 2019 Distinguished Service to Law & Society Awards at the annual Fellows Breakfast on Friday, Dec. 6 at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont. Allen N. Schwartz of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz will receive the 2019 Honorary Fellow Award.

The Illinois State Bar Association will honor the Class of 1969 Distinguished Counsellors on Nov. 14. This title is conferred annually upon those ISBA members who are completing their 50th year of practice.
The Board of Governors is pleased to announce the 2019 Class will be honored at a special luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Palmer House Chicago. A reception will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch is scheduled promptly at 11:45 a.m.

The Illinois Bar Foundation will honor the life and legacy of Myles L. Jacobs at a reception to aid lawyers in need.
The Myles Jacobs Memorial Reception will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Barolo Ristorante in Joliet. Proceeds will benefit the Illinois Bar Foundation's Warren Lupel Lawyers Care Fund, which provides financial aid to help deserving members of the Illinois Bar and their families pay for everyday essentials during times of crisis.

Hon. James F. McCluskey
Hon. James F. McCluskey, the Illinois State Bar Association’s immediate past president, will be honored at a reception hosted by the Illinois State Bar Association and Illinois Bar Foundation at Maggiano’s Little Italy, 240 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook on Thursday, July 18 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Before becoming an associate judge of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, Judge McCluskey was a founding member of Momkus McCluskey, LLC. There he handled 60 jury trials as a commercial litigator. In addition to serving as the 2018-2019 ISBA president, Judge McCluskey served as president of the DuPage County Bar Association, and is a member of the Kane County Bar Association and West Suburban Bar Association. He is a Gold Fellow of the IBF. He received a bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College, a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law, and an L.L.M. from the John Marshall Law School.
