Robert Francis Nix, age 85, adored father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by family on December 14. Bob, a lawyer and former Cook County Circuit Court judge, was a longtime resident of Northbrook, IL, and part-time resident of Aspen, CO.

Paul A. Meints, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on December 6th. Paul was born in Quincy, Illinois to Arlene and Alvin Meints on May 11, 1947. He grew up in Golden, Illinois, and graduated from Central High School. Paul went on to study finance at Western Illinois University and earned his law degree from Valparaiso University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1971. Paul was proud of his military service and honored to be a veteran.

The A.R.D.C. is the Supreme Court agency that investigates allegations of lawyer wrongdoing in Illinois.

Marshall J. Hartman, age 87, passed away on September 21, 2021.
Marshall, recipient of the 2017 Illinois State Bar Association Laureate Award, was a 1957 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School. He was instrumental in establishing offices and policies for the defense of indigents in Cook County and across the United States. Among other positions, he was appointed the Public Defender for Lake County, IL, (1987-91) and he went on to lead the Capital Resource Center at the Office of the Illinois State Appellate Defender.
