    P. Scott Neville, Jr. Sworn in as Illinois Supreme Court Justice
    Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr.

    The Honorable P. Scott Neville, Jr. was sworn in to the Illinois Supreme Court today during an installation ceremony at the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago. 

    He is filling the seat of retiring Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Freeman. Justice Neville’s appointment is effective today through Dec. 7, 2020. He said he plans to seek reelection.

    A graduate of Washington University’s School of Law, Justice Neville has practiced law in Illinois since 1974, when he became a law clerk for Illinois Appellate Court Justice Glenn T. Johnson. Throughout his career as an attorney, Justice Neville has specialized in appellate, employment, civil rights issues, and complex litigation.

    Illinois State Bar Association Leaders Attend Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s Annual Convention

    Illinois State Bar Association President Hon. Russell Hartigan and Third Vice President Dennis Orsey represented the ISBA during the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s annual convention June 8 at the JW Marriott Chicago.

    Joliet Attorney Eric J. Blatti Receives 2018 Elite Lawyer Award for Criminal Defense for Personal Injury

    ISBA Presents Law Enforcement Award to Lockport Police Chief

    Lockport Police Chief Terry Lemming received the ISBA Law Enforcement Award on June 6 during a Lockport City Council meeting. ISBA Board member Sonni Choi Williams and Lockport Mayor Steven Streit presented the award.

    The ISBA Law Enforcement Award was created to recognize sworn law enforcement officers for conduct that promotes justice and to distinguish those individuals whose service to the public brings honor and respect to the entire criminal justice system. It recognizes those who excel in law enforcement.

    Chief Lemming, who was nominated by Williams, was recognized for co-creating Lockport Love, a non-profit organization that raises money for families in need.

    Park Ridge Attorney Patrick Quinn Receives 2018 Elite Lawyer Award for Personal Injury

    Attorney Patrick Quinn, of the Quinn Law Group, LLC, has been honored with a 2018 Elite Lawyer Award for the area of personal injury. 

    The Elite Lawyer rating service recognizes attorneys who display a high level of competence in their practice and receive acknowledgment from their peers, community, bar, and committees.

    Quinn represents clients seeking compensation for their personal injuries. He previously defended insurance companies during personal injury, wrongful death, and healthcare negligence lawsuits.

    John J. Mazzorana 1943-2018

    John J. Mazzorana, 75, died May 27, 2018, in New Lenox. He was born May 14, 1943, in Chicago. 

    John was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Elsie Mazzorana, and his wife, Claudia.

    John is survived by his loving children, Vicki Mazzorana, Michelle Stokes (Roy), Katherine Wilson, Jason Mazzorana (Angie) and Anthony Mazzorana; his beloved grandchildren, Jacob Wilson, Madeline Wilson and Gianna Mazzorana; his brother, Dennis Mazzorana (Therese); his caring companion of many years, Sandy Meinke; and her daughter, Amanda Wrobel; as well as many nephews and nieces.

    Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard adds Attorney from Prominent New York Personal Injury Firm

    Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. today announced the addition of attorney Heidi L. Wickstrom to the firm’s legal team. 

    Wickstrom, who spent 11 years with New York’s Pillersdorf Law Firm, will be joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard as an associate, focusing her practice in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, personal injury, and wrongful death cases. 

    During her time with Pillersdorf, Wickstrom assisted in obtaining many multi-million dollar recoveries for clients; namely, a $15.7 million verdict for the plaintiff in a case against Consolidated Edison of New York; and $10 million and $5.4 million verdicts, respectively, for two plaintiffs in cases against the New York City Transit Authority.

    Attorney Pamela Cox Appointed to Licensing Executive Society International’s Board of Directors

    Attorney Pamela L. Cox has been appointed to the board of directors for the Licensing Executives Society International. 

    She is the chair of Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP’s IP transactions practice in Chicago. She is recognized as one of the country’s leading licensing authorities, particularly in the life sciences. 

    Cox received the LESI President’s Award for Individual Service, recognizing her years of outstanding leadership and service as chair of the LESI Life Sciences Committee. She has held additional leadership roles in LESI and LES USA/Canada, including serving as vice-chair of LESI’s external relations committee; founder of LESI’s Life Science Advisory Board; international delegate for seven years to LES USA-Canada; and chair of the LES USA/Canada Chicago chapter.
