As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Ms. Mangum handled a variety of matters ranging from traffic to domestic violence. Prior to joining the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, Ms. Mangum was an Assistant District Attorney for the state of New Mexico. While there, Ms. Mangum handled misdemeanors in the city of Albuquerque. Ms. Mangum is a former Law Clerk of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The Mangum Law Firm, LLC is a general practice firm, with a focus on Traffic, Family, and Criminal law. Amid the recession, Mangum is excited about the new practice, and looks forward to serving residents and businesses in Illinois. In response to criticism about the timing of the formation, Mangum states, “I’m well aware of the fact that the practice of law is not recession proof, but I’m excited about being available to cater to the needs of Illinois residents with legal issues.” Ms. Mangum is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), and has recently been appointed to the ISBA Assembly seat serving Cook County.

Stumpf has announced that Tim Gutknecht of Waterloo will join him in his law practice, located in Columbia effective May 3. “I’m very pleased to have Tim join me,” Mr. Stumpf said. “I have known Tim for many years. Berger Schatz has announced that Brian J. Blitz and Claudia Gallo have become partners of the firm. Blitz received his B.A. from the University of Texas in 1999 and his J.D. from the University of Illinois in 2002.
